Such a beautiful post and the pictures are gorgeous…What I find striking, besides the apparent contradiction of a ripe, bright fruit blanketed with frozen Water, is how many different ways to think about the relationship between the persimmon and the snow. Are they in union? Is the fruit being nudged along as you said, perhaps before it's ready but maybe needing a good push? I like the idea of the persimmon, smoother than sharp needles of pine, offering the snow a soft place to land. There is the mystery. How long will the persimmon hold on before it drops? How long will the snow last before it melts? This picture captures a moment in time, reminding us all again to come into this moment, here and now. It also reminds me that the natural world truly controls timing, try as we all may to have the upper hand…I look forward to your next post!
