Meditation - Qigong
Meditation
Have you ever been curious about meditation and how it can support your journey of health and wellness? Do you have stress in your life? Do you find yourself having an overactive mind or feeling consumed by particular feelings or emotions? Do you have previous meditation experience?
If the answer is ‘yes’ to any of these questions, then there are some wonderful options for you. First, I have recently added a small meditation area in my treatment room and have started to incorporate seated meditation into people’s sessions if they want it. Basically, I offer simple instruction on posture, breath, and methods of working with the mind.
Second, enhance your weekend by taking a deep breath of body, mind, and spirit on selected Sunday mornings from 10:30am-11:30am at Seattle Kajukenbo (1408 22nd Ave in Capitol Hill). My desire is to simply facilitate a safe space for people of all backgrounds to explore the deep and nurturing experience that meditation can offer. Basic instruction will be offered from the Zen Buddhist tradition, followed by 1-2 periods of sitting and/or walking meditation, then ending with a brief reading selected from a variety of inspirational sources.

Qigong
Qigong may be loosely translated as “energy work”. They are exercises designed to have a specific therapeutic benefit on the body, mind, spirit. Some may facilitate the cultivation or circulation of energy, while others may strengthen particular organs or meridians in the body. What I am currently offering is a series (taught one at a time) of 11 exercises that are general tonics for the 5 Elements, the 12 major meridians, as well as for certain extraordinary meridians that were layed down prior to the 12 major meridians. This is very important work and a wonderful adjunct to an individual’s healing process when done consistently.
